Dress Your Best

Today when I was browsing my fashion blogs, I saw this picture of La La looking FAB while she was pumping gas.

Now, I know she was probably on her way somewhere, but it got me to thinking about how people dress to run errands or do regular things. Most people throw on whatever to run here or there, but did you ever stop to think if you spent a little more time on the way you look those mundane errands wouldn’t be so horrible? I am a firm believer in the better you look, the better you feel. Usually, if I’m feeling kind of crappy, I’ll get all dolled up and it goes a long way in making me feel a little better, at least for the time being. There is nothing worse than feeling like crap/miserable AND looking like crap too. Plus, you never know who you’ll run in to. That day you decide to run to the grocery store in your XXL gym shirt and grimey shorts you could run into an ex, a potential client or networking opportunity, etc. I’m not saying you need to put on your Sunday’s best to go to the ATM, but I am saying that taking an extra 5 – 10 minutes to put some thought into your outfit goes a long way.  Here are 4 quick tips for sprucing up your regular errand running attire.

1. Put on a touch of make up and fix your hair

This seems like a no brainer, but this goes a long way in making you look put together.

2. Trade the unfitted T-shirt for a fitted one.

Instead of wearing that ratty college T- shirt that is two sizes too big. Throw on a fitted T. It instantly makes you look less sloppy.

3. Nix the tennis shoes

If you are one of those people wearing running shoes and you are not going to or coming from the gym, please stop! A cute pair of flats are just as comfortable and look so much more polished.

4. Accessorize

Throw on a cute necklace or pair of earrings. This makes it look like you actually put thought into what you have on as opposed to rolling out of bed

How long would it take you to do all of those things? All of five minutes? Not even. So try it next time you leave the house to run errands. I promise it will put a little bounce in your step.  Look fabulous, feel fabulous.
